INVOLVED IN CHURCH LEADERSHIP?

KID ZONE KORNER

Hey Everyone, just can’t tell you all enough how thankful I am for this church and all you do for the children’s ministry. Once again I saw you all come together and work extremely hard to meet the needs of our kiddos. Vacation Bible School was INCREDIBLE. I’m not sure who had more fun, the kids or the adults. I know I had a blast. We had a great group of kids-- a total enrollment of 103-- WOW! We had an awesome team of adults and youth that were amazing. Thank you, thank you,  thank you to everyone who has some part in VBS. Even if you could not be here that week but you prayed for us and supported us in other ways, you played a very important role. Prayers were answered. A lot of lives were touched that week and we will continue to reach out to them. God is sooooooo good!!!!! He has blessed this church in so many ways and with such good people. So once again thank you.

I also want to say a special thank you for the covered picnic area on the playground. What a blessing! The preschoolers were able to use it during VBS and enjoyed the shade. So thank you to those that provided this and just know that it is greatly appreciated and will be well used.

I was reading today in Genesis when Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac. I have heard and read this story many times but today was the first time that I saw the connection between the ram caught in the thicket and Christ. In Beth Moore’s devotional Whispers of Hope she brings this to the forefront.  She writes, “ The shadow of the cross fell on Mt. Moriah that day. We all have been tied to the altar of death and then presented a chance to be loosed for eternal life by the perfect Lamb, One whose head was torn by thorns and was willing to take our place. Our present challenges may not be as dramatic as Abrams but we too can allow our lives to become visual aids through which God teaches others about Himself----and His faithful ways.Isn’t it amazing how God always knows what weneed to hear just at the right time. I was needing some reassurance about God’s provisions and got so much more. First of all I am so GLAD that God provided Jesus as our ram. Second, as we all go through trials many times we ask why, in fact even this week I have asked , “Why us Lord, why now?”but one thing I know for sure is God is my Jehovah Jireh (my provider) and He has perfect plan and reasons why. I just have to trust Him and know that He is in control and has our best interest at heart and just as he provided the ram for Abraham, He will always provide exactly what we need at the time we need it. I also know that He can and does use our trials to minister to others who are or will be in a similar situation. So even today I was reminded that people are watching us to see how we handle situations and what that says to them about our faith and our God. So I challenge you just as I am challenging myself that whatever we face to first give it to the Lord, (which is extremely hard), keep our attitudes in check, and to Rejoice in the Lord always(Phil 4:4). Second remember Jeremiah 29:11 (I’ll make you look that one up) and finally one last verse to leave you with is Psalms 139:23-24. (again you will have to look it up)
I love you all dearly and thank you for loving us.
